The design is inspired by the evolving concept of flexibility and the transformation of spatial boundaries in today’s world. As a reflection of our increasingly expansive understanding of living, the aim of the project was to create a space in which each element defines its own boundary and where conventional borders are softened. Multifunctional areas provide spatial efficiency and functionality. Each space is designed with its specific function in mind, optimizing the use of both energy and materials. In a future scenario where even natural environments are embraced as potential living spaces, the cave form is used as an architectural shell. The design consists of a residential and pool area placed within a naturally hollow cave formation. The project offers a living environment integrated not only with nature but also with advanced technology. In the interior, a smart TV unit can be recessed into or rise from the floor when needed. This feature reinforces the idea of flexibility while also emphasizing the technological identity of the structure.

At the heart of the composition is a vivid blue cube — a three-dimensional interpretation of the artist’s viewfinder, the simple frame used to select and compose a scene. Here, the frame becomes a space: a studio, a canvas, and a place from which to observe the world. The artist sits inside the color, becoming part of the composition rather than simply observing it. The cube creates the first frame of the view. Beyond it, a cobalt-blue arch frames the landscape, while the pool becomes a living canvas of turquoise water, sunlight, and reflections. Each element creates another layer of perception, leading the eye from the artist to the architecture, from the architecture to the water, and from the water to the landscape. The project embraces Hockney’s celebration of intense color, Mediterranean light, water and the simplicity of bold geometric forms. Rather than reproducing his paintings, it translates their visual language into space. Here, the cube is the frame, the arch is the composition, the pool is the canvas, and light becomes paint. The boundary between art and reality dissolves, transforming the entire poolside landscape into an immersive, three-dimensional painting.

145.29㎡ The Art of Silence BLACK MATTER is a private interior composed of three interconnected spaces: a bedroom, a dressing room, and a bathroom, united by a single architectural language and a refined interpretation of black. The concept explores black not as a dramatic or severe color, but as a calm, deep, tactile and sophisticated presence. A restrained palette of charcoal, graphite, anthracite, smoky grey, warm greige and muted beige creates a layered atmosphere where richness comes from material rather than excessive decoration. The bedroom is defined by a raw sculptural rock wall behind the bed. Its deep graphite-charcoal surface, irregular geological layers, recesses and subtle fractures introduce a sense of natural power. The rugged mineral texture contrasts with soft textiles, rounded furniture and delicate warm lighting. The dressing room continues the same aesthetic in a more intimate and functional form. Dark architectural surfaces, integrated storage and carefully positioned lighting transform everyday functionality into a luxurious private ritual. The bathroom translates the concept into a more refined mineral language, combining dark stone, subtle reflections, matte and polished surfaces, and atmospheric lighting. Light is the invisible element connecting all three spaces. Layered evening illumination reveals the textures rather than simply illuminating the rooms: concealed lighting grazes the rock surface, architectural niches create a soft glow, and local fixtures form intimate pools of light. The result is an interior where luxury is expressed through restraint, texture, proportion and atmosphere. Black is not the absence of light. It is the depth in which light becomes visible. Key Zones & Materials The Entertainment Hub: Features a striking U-shaped white marble bar with gold accents, set against a dramatic backlit arched display. Right next to it is a premium black-felt pool table and custom poker setup for hosting. The Media Lounge: Anchored by a monolithic curved sofa in deep forest-green velvet. The dark wood paneling and massive display screen are framed by sharp vertical light columns to create a cinematic focal point. The Private Cinema: A dedicated home theater with tiered leather seating, low-level floor lighting, and a dark acoustic palette for an immersive viewing experience. Wellness Area: A private gym corner with slate walls and an integrated timber sauna, allowing a smooth transition from workout to relaxation. Lighting & Contrast The entire design relies on sharp contrast. Hidden linear LEDs trace the walls and baseboards, casting a soft, dramatic glow over the dark concrete and wood textures. But I couldn't do the last part. Ando keeps his rooms cold on purpose, and every time I finished a space I found I'd put something warm in it: an ochre chair, an amber bench doubled in the pool, two orange birds on a stone slab, a sheet of reclaimed steel hiding a television, a clock the colour of rust at the end of a fifty-foot swim. So the references are everywhere and he isn't in any of them. That's the title. You go looking for Ando, and what you find is the person who was searching.

Natural wood, woven furniture, plaid textiles, pumpkins, seasonal fruit, dried flowers, ornamental grasses, and colorful foliage create a layered yet refined atmosphere of harvest, hospitality, and comfort. The porch becomes a welcoming place for conversation, reading, and quiet moments, while the fire-pit deck beneath the birch trees and the poolside seating continue the experience into the garden. Light is central to the project. During the day, golden sunlight filters through the foliage and fills the terrace with warmth. At blue hour, the glow of the interior passes through the glass doors and merges with lanterns, candles, soft landscape lighting, and the fire pit. The contrast between the cool autumn sky and warm light from the house creates a feeling of shelter and belonging. Fallen leaves remain naturally scattered across the steps, deck, and garden paths, preserving the fleeting, authentic character of the season. The project brings together architecture, interior atmosphere, landscape, and seasonal décor in one cohesive composition. Autumn begins outside, but true warmth always comes from within the home.
