50 SHADES OF GREY the film and book trilogy was my inspiration for this cinematic theme. I read the books but never saw the film so this is my own interpretation of the main character Christian Greys' home. Monochrome throughout this masculine home I think may appeal to this self confident and complex character. Anyway it was a fun challenge... so thank you Homestyler for the chance to do something a little different.

AI "Magic Word" challenge : My style
I have used a ready-made room "8 Industrial Style Tall Single Room". To focus on the AI model. There were four of them. My "magic words" have been 1, "Scandinavian three seater sofa with chaise longue, light grey leather upholstery with pine legs". I used the size 4m, but did not change, from length to width. It was too big! 2, "Scandinavian armchair, light grey leather upholstery with pine legs." I used the size 1m, but did not change, from length to width. It worked fine anyway. 3, "Sofa cushion in beige faux fur" I was supposed to make a pillow for the sofa. But when my English is not at its best, that's what it turned out to be. I put them on the floor to sit on by the fire instead. I used the size 1m. Still on length. 4, "American Staffordshire Terrier, brindle, with white paws" The brindle color didn't show but this worked for me. I used the size 1m. Still on length. Worked fine!

The interior of this house is decorated in a modern, minimalist style, dominated by bright colours, mainly white and shades of grey. The whole thing is spacious and very tidy. Large windows let in a lot of natural light, enhancing the impression of spaciousness. The floors are covered with panels in a natural, warm shade of wood, which adds cosiness to the interior. The kitchen is equally neat and modern. Bright, white fronts of the cabinets without handles, high gloss, match the darker countertop, which adds contrast. The household appliances have been elegantly integrated into the construction, which further emphasises the minimalist character of the kitchen. The bedroom also maintains the same aesthetics – it is bright, functional and free from excess decoration. This room gives the impression of being calm, perfect for relaxation, and its arrangement is maintained in the Scandinavian spirit. The bathroom is an elegant and modern interior that combines elements of nature with minimalist design. It has atmospheric lighting that highlights selected details and creates an intimate atmosphere.

Design Concept:URL: https://greyvalleystudios.com/scaffolding-the-future This project reimagines the classical column not as ornament but as scaffold — relics of permanence enlisted to carry new life. Between these salvaged fragments rise walls of rammed earth, pressed from local soil. The house stands between ruin and renewal: monumental yet sustainable, archaic yet forward-looking. Rammed earth provides natural thermal regulation and tactile connection to place. The reused columns stabilize walls and frame glass openings, their permanence balanced by AI-simulated distribution. Sustainability extends beyond material choice through passive heating and cooling, rainwater collection, and natural ventilation. It is architecture that re-grounds history rather than erasing it: living with the ruins, scaffolding a better life. AI Function Application:Homestyler’s AI platform shaped this design from concept to refinement. The AI moodboard distilled key elements — columns, kitchen island, chandelier, and material palettes — which were then curated to align with the project’s narrative. AI simulations tested thermal performance of rammed earth walls, optimized daylight through large fenestrations, and modeled passive solar gain. Structural analyses balanced the load between reclaimed stone columns and new rammed earth, ensuring efficiency and stability. Technology was not ornamental but essential: proposing, testing, and refining design choices that merge heritage with sustainability. Competition Theme:The design demonstrates how AI can enhance life by making heritage sustainable. It does not demolish to rebuild; it regenerates. Rammed earth lowers energy demand, reused columns reduce waste, and AI ensures comfort and efficiency. Together they create spaces of resilience and calm, improving daily living while reducing environmental cost. Project Status:This project exists as a conceptual design, it has not been physically implemented.

With a base of natural wood tones combined with painted woods and a palette of lilac, plum, navy and cream Cabin creek is my attempt to show that cabin living doesn't have to be rough and rugged. Sat on the edge of the lake with 360 degree views of natures subtle colours. this home is a semi reflection of these colours. Feminine and cosy and a distinct country charm. This cabin is far removed from rustic lodges of deer heads and antlers over the fireplace. My goal was to incorporate natural wood and allow its mellow colours to blend with pretty shades to create a welcoming gentle interior.

As a coffee lover perhaps PANTONE selection of Mocha Mousse was always going appeal to me. I love the soft velvety richness of this colour scheme. ..it offers warmth and somehow drapes walls and furnishing in a comforting hug but also brings a distinct air of elegance especially when combined with complimenting elements of greys, warm wood and matching tiles in this contemporary apartment. SO HAPPY to be back contributing on HS again ...lack of time has forced me to be absent ..i have missed designing and all my fellow designers SO MUCH!!!!

Bauhaus Principle is " Form follows function". Focuses on functionality, practicality and simplicity. Key elements of this design are lack of ornament, clean lines, smooth surfaces, simple geometric shapes, pop of primary colours with main colour scheme as white, grey and black, basic industrial materials like concrete, steel, glass. Its distinct style that merge artistry with mass production and function, can be also seen in other forms, with its abstract, angular, geometric shape design in architecture but also in furnitures. Its new theme is to harmonise in nature and adopt sustainability.

Domus Terrae — A Sustainable Mountain Retreat
Design Concept:URL: https://greyvalleystudios.com/domus-terrae/ Design Concept: Domus Terrae is a thoughtfully designed eco-home nestled in the Western Coast mountains, blending modern comfort with deep respect for nature. Featuring two spacious rooms, accessible bathrooms, and open living spaces, this semi-subterranean residence uses natural materials—blonde sandstone walls, stabilized earth ceilings and floors, and repurposed granite tiles—to harmonize with its environment. Large skylights fill the home with natural light, while wide sliding doors connect indoor living to outdoor spaces. Integrated solar panels and sustainable design strategies ensure energy efficiency and comfort year-round. This project demonstrates a seamless fusion of accessibility, sustainability, and timeless beauty—crafted to serve as a model for eco-conscious mountain living. AI Function Application:Homestyler’s AI tools guided both design logic and material selection. The AI Mood Board simulation generated a cohesive palette of blonde sandstone, repurposed granite, and warm earth tones, aligning architecture with its mountain setting. AI daylight studies informed the placement of skylights and large sliding doors, maximizing natural illumination and passive solar gain. Circulation and spatial flow were optimized through AI-assisted layout testing, ensuring accessibility, comfort, and efficiency. Competition Theme:Domus Terrae demonstrates how AI-enabled design can create homes that are sustainable, inclusive, and deeply attuned to their environment. By blending semi-subterranean insulation, renewable energy systems, and naturally regulating materials with AI-optimized daylighting and circulation, the design improves quality of life while reducing ecological impact. The result is a dwelling that promotes health, comfort, and harmony with nature. Project Status:Conceptual Design (Unbuilt). Developed within Homestyler’s AI platform for the AIDA Global Competition.

This villa was a long and hard project to do, but at the end I'm really happy with the outcome. It's a little different style for me, but I wanted to try something more historical and luxurious, but still modern and cozy. My favorites rooms are the master bedroom, the black downstair bathroom and the greenhouse.

This isn’t just an interior – it’s a space that looks like it already signed a contract with Vogue Living. The style? Modern elegance flirting with cozy comfort. Marble, warm wood, and greenery – as if nature got invited over for a glass of prosecco and happily stayed. It’s the kind of place where you sip coffee like the CEO of your own life, then flop on the sofa in sweatpants – and still look like you belong. Every corner is intentional: a dash of luxury, a touch of homeliness, all designed so even your problems look stylish here. In short: this home says I’ve got class, I’ve got humor, and I’ve got room for more shoes. 👠🌿

Bright grey kitchen for a plant lover
This natural grey kitchen conveys a clean and timeless atmosphere, enriched by the owner’s love for plants. The greenery adds a fresh contrast to the neutral palette, bringing warmth and vibrancy into the space. One of the key features is the large window placed directly above the sink. It fills the kitchen with natural light, making daily tasks more enjoyable while creating the perfect environment for plants to thrive. The result is a space that feels both practical and inspiring.

Situated bang smack in the heart of the city this urban pad designed for a single independently minded female occupant. The theme of this property is geometric pattern. Mostly shown in the choice of wallpapers but also in many of the furniture shapes and some artwork pieces. The theme has been used to create a sharp contemporary interior, uncluttered and bold. The colour pink is used throughout, blended with cranberry, mulberry. slate grey and black to produce a feminine but strong palette for today's modern woman.

#Tea break Contest The Pergola Cafe
I have created this little waterside haven for all my design friends to enjoy. An oasis of peace and tranquillity where the simple pleasures of tea, coffee and cake, or a pick me up glass of fizz can be enjoyed whilst gazing at the water frontage or admiring the foliage covered walls from the shade of a large umbrella. This design is a feminine space to celebrate all that is special about each and every woman.... and to offer a calming break from the stress of modern day life. Enjoy Ladies and one lump or two?

#EasterDayContest - An Easter Gathering
Easter has many meanings, for some a deeply religious festival, for children a time to indulge in chocolate eggs and other treats.... but for many this is a time of the year to catch up and enjoy life with family or friends and maybe gather for a shared meal. My Easter design is a combination of a lunch party for the adults and an Easter corner for the little ones... or those just young at heart.

Midnight Modern Dream is an architectural theme that blends the mystique of the night with sleek modernity, creating an atmosphere of elegance and intrigue. This aesthetic is defined by deep, moody color palettes—charcoal blacks, inky blues, and soft greys—enhanced by ambient lighting that mimics the glow of moonlight and city reflections. Sharp geometric forms contrast with fluid, organic elements, evoking a sense of surreal tranquility. Materials like tinted glass, polished concrete, and brushed metal add a sophisticated edge, while subtle textures—velvet, wood, and stone—soften the ambiance. Spaces designed under this theme feel like a lucid dream—mysterious, immersive, and timelessly modern.

Bauhaus Inspired, double story.
The challenge for this design was to use the newly presented tool to create a second floor for the apartment. The tool turned out to be super easy and effective to not only create, but also decorate and fit out the second floor. For that I am truly thankful. To fit the staircase and create the vertex posed to be a bit of a challenge. The design style of the house was inspired by the gorgeous Bauhaus models.

This attic loft apartment beautifully embodies industrial style with its striking grey concrete and exposed brick walls. The neutral color palette serves as a calming backdrop, enhancing the loft's modern aesthetic. Bold accents, such as vibrant artwork and pillows, add pops of personality and character to the space. A large glass door leads to the cozy bedroom, allowing natural light to flood the room.

15 Min Challenge - Grey and Orange Living Room
I decided to challenge myself to see if I could create a room in 15 minutes. I decided on a style/design/room that I wanted the final piece to look like before I started. I then dived straight in, as I always do. No planning, just start to pull models I like into the room and arrange them.I even had two mins for some renders at the end. Despite the rush, I quite like it!Let me know if there are any other challenges I should try and I'll give them a go!

1 Mason Petite.... a little French dressing!
Set in the suburbs of Paris in parkland gardens you will find 1 Mason Petite a french styled property complete with shutters, small outside areas and perhaps a dash Gallic charm. Step inside and it's all 'Ohhh la la' with floor to ceiling drapes, floral fabrics, flounces &flourishes. But good taste and some restraint has levelled the scales to produce an elegant but unmistakably French inspired interior that echos decors past, but combines colours and creature comforts for living today.
