Where Color Becomes Space Inspired by David Hockney’s iconic pool paintings, Hockney’s Cube explores the moment when painting leaves the canvas and becomes architecture. At the heart of the composition is a vivid blue cube — a three-dimensional interpretation of the artist’s viewfinder, the simple frame used to select and compose a scene. Here, the frame becomes a space: a studio, a canvas, and a place from which to observe the world. The artist sits inside the color, becoming part of the composition rather than simply observing it. The cube creates the first frame of the view. Beyond it, a cobalt-blue arch frames the landscape, while the pool becomes a living canvas of turquoise water, sunlight, and reflections. Each element creates another layer of perception, leading the eye from the artist to the architecture, from the architecture to the water, and from the water to the landscape. The project embraces Hockney’s celebration of intense color, Mediterranean light, water and the simplicity of bold geometric forms. Rather than reproducing his paintings, it translates their visual language into space. Here, the cube is the frame, the arch is the composition, the pool is the canvas, and light becomes paint. The boundary between art and reality dissolves, transforming the entire poolside landscape into an immersive, three-dimensional painting.

"Bath under the Olive Sun” is a place where sunlight becomes part of the architecture, the fresco becomes part of the wall, and shadow becomes part of the art. In this space, Mediterranean aesthetics are reinterpreted through a contemporary bohemian approach: natural materials, handcrafted textures, aged surfaces and objects with a sense of history create an interior that feels less like a stylistic imitation and more like a fragment of an old house brought back to life. The central fresco depicting an olive grove becomes the visual memory of the space, while the circular skylight transforms natural daylight into a constantly changing work of art. Throughout the day, the pattern of sunlight moves across the fresco, plaster, stone, terracotta and textiles, creating a new atmosphere with every passing hour. Conceptual formula: Mediterranean architecture + contemporary boho + natural materials + fresco art + olive-inspired palette + solar atrium + a living composition of light and shadow. This is an interior not only for the body, but for the senses — a space where one can pause, feel the warmth of the sun, and for a few moments step into another time.

The Mediterranean Cliffside Feast: Design Rooted in Family Wisdom
Designed for the Room Mastery Bootcamp (Kitchen & Dining Week) with absolute layout freedom, this coastal villa is an architectural manifesto against the narrow, cramped spaces of modern apartments. Today, contemporary kitchens often fit only one or two people, unintentionally pushing children and families away from each other. For me, the kitchen holds a deeply sacred meaning, rooted in cultural history and precious family legacy. My grandmother used to say: "If you want to raise your children well, raise them through the dinner table. It is through shared meals that we naturally absorb life examples, respect, and values." In our family, the dining table was a safe space where difficult, sensitive topics were discussed gently and indirectly—never pointing fingers, but calmly analyzing problems over a warm meal. This wisdom mirrors the ancient traditions of my homeland, Kyrgyzstan, where epic tales describe how warring tribal elders were seated at a grand, rich banquet table to reconcile and show mutual respect. This spacious, sun-drenched sanctuary with an intimate fireplace lounge, a custom terracotta-sand mosaic wall, and an expansive outdoor terrace with floating playful elements is created to bring people together. It is a breathing, cinematic haven designed for a large family to gather, talk effortlessly, share culinary arts, and pass down generational wisdom in absolute comfort. #WeeklyChallenge #FreePlanKitchen #BootcampWeek3 #Hygge #CozyVibes #KyrgyzHeritage

This entryway feels like stepping into a quiet gallery carved from memory and earth. The Sculptor’s Threshold celebrates form, shadow, and stillness — where art and architecture merge in reverence. The relief of intertwined figures anchors the space like a timeless fresco, while the seated portrait across the hall adds a contemplative counterpoint. Each vessel and dried branch becomes part of the composition, echoing the human touch that shaped them. Natural light filters through the black‑framed glass, illuminating the clay tones and textured wood, inviting guests to pause before crossing deeper into the home's story. Mediterranean Brutalist — a fusion of sculptural minimalism and organic warmth, balancing raw materiality with poetic restraint.

Modern Boho Apartment with Terrace Under the Olive Sun is a contemporary interpretation of bohemian living designed for a young creative professional. More than a bedroom, the project represents a private apartment that combines a sleeping area, workspace, lounge corner, bathroom, and terrace into one seamless architectural experience. The design rethinks traditional boho aesthetics through architecture rather than decoration. A series of soft arches unifies the space, connecting the bed alcove, bathroom entrance, built-in niches, and the large arched door leading to the terrace. These repeating forms create a calm and harmonious spatial rhythm. Natural materials define the atmosphere: textured plaster, warm oak, woven elements, linen fabrics, handcrafted ceramics, and tactile textiles. The color palette is inspired by Mediterranean landscapes, combining soft sand tones, rich wood, terracotta accents, and deep olive green details that visually connect the interior with the surrounding nature. Layered lighting enhances the architectural composition, emphasizing niches, arches, and transitions between spaces while creating a warm evening ambiance. The uniqueness of the project lies in its balance between freedom and structure. It preserves the relaxed spirit of bohemian interiors while introducing a refined architectural language and a sense of contemporary luxury. The result is a space that supports both creativity and rest — a personal retreat where nature, light, and design coexist in harmony. Area: Private Apartment Suite with Terrace Style: Contemporary Boho Concept: Architecture first, bohemian soul second

Spain is often recognized through the colors of its flag — red and yellow. Yet behind these colors lies a deeper story. In this interior, red reflects the earth of Castile, the terracotta walls of ancient cities, the pomegranate hues of Andalusia, and the passion that shaped Spanish culture. Yellow becomes the light of the southern sun, illuminating palaces, courtyards, and stone walls that preserve the memory of the past. Inspired by the architectural heritage of the Alhambra and the lasting Moorish influence on Spain, the project combines geometric ornament, textured plaster, carved details, and warm natural materials. These elements are reinterpreted through a contemporary design language, revealing the dialogue between cultures and eras. At the heart of the concept stands the key (The Key of Sepharad). In Spain’s historical memory, a key is more than a functional object. According to legend, many families carried the keys to their homes as symbols of belonging, remembrance, and hope. Here, the key opens not only doors but also stories, identity, and the connection between generations. It becomes a metaphor for Spain’s cultural heritage, shaped by centuries of encounters between peoples, traditions, and beliefs. The image of Archangel Michael appears as a subtle tribute to Spain’s spiritual heritage. Rather than a dominant religious symbol, he is presented as a guardian of memory, values, and cultural continuity. The project is not dedicated to a single era, culture, or faith. Instead, it celebrates Spain as a crossroads of civilizations, where Moorish, Christian, and Mediterranean influences came together to create a unique identity. The Last Key of Alhambra invites visitors to look beyond color and ornament and discover the stories hidden within them — stories illuminated by the Spanish sun and preserved in the memory of stone.

A serene Pilates studio designed around balance, movement, and mindful living. The space blends organic modern, Japandi, and Mediterranean influences, using natural wood, soft neutral tones, mineral textures, and warm lighting to create a calm and sophisticated atmosphere. Large windows and views of the surrounding landscape bring nature into the space, while the open layout creates a sense of flow and spaciousness. Every detail—from the sculptural furniture to the curated decor—was chosen to make the studio feel more like a luxury wellness retreat than a traditional fitness space. Concept: A quiet sanctuary for movement, mindfulness, and connection.

This is not a story about gilding and heavy curtains, but about tactility. It is based on a modern volume with panoramic glazing to let nature inside. And the character is born in the details: large-format travertine porcelain stoneware moves from the wall to the floor without a single threshold, creating the effect of a monolithic cave bathed in the sun.

BENISSA_Mediterranean Pastels between Sea and Countryside
In the hills of Benissa, between the sea and the countryside of Alicante, this former farmhouse has been adapted for year-round living. The original structure was extended with a new double-height space that houses the living area and a kitchen—designed, by request, entirely in pink. Above, a small office sits on a mezzanine under the warmth of exposed wooden beams. Pastel tones, not typical for this coastal region, bring a soft contrast that plays beautifully with the Mediterranean light. The result is a calm, lived-in home that blends traditional elements with a few unexpected choices.

Design Concept:Casa Solana is a serene and elegant fusion of Italian Mediterranean tradition and modern minimalism. The design reflects a philosophy of grounded luxury—where textured stucco walls, arched architectural elements, and lush greenery meet clean lines, refined finishes, and uncluttered forms. Inspired by the warmth of coastal Italian villas and the simplicity of contemporary design, every room in Casa Solana balances old-world charm with modern restraint. AI Function Application:AI tools were seamlessly integrated into every phase of Casa Solana’s design process. Homestyler’s AI-assisted layout tools optimized spatial planning for flow and functionality, especially where traditional elements like arched passageways intersect with minimalist open-concept zones. Material matching algorithms helped fine-tune the mix of Mediterranean textures—stucco, terracotta, natural stone—with sleek contemporary materials like matte finishes and brushed metals. Competition Theme:Attention is captured through iconic architectural features—arched doorways, vaulted ceilings, and expansive views—complemented by crisp lines and balanced proportions. Interest is sustained by the layered interplay of tradition and innovation, where rustic textures meet minimalist geometry. Desire is cultivated through intentional serenity: open-air spaces, biophilic elements, and luxurious yet understated materials make the design emotionally resonant. Action is driven by demonstrating how AI empowers designers to translate timeless inspirations into refined, contemporary living environments—fully visualized and iterated through Homestyler’s intelligent platform. Project Status:The project is in advanced conceptual development. All major design decisions have been finalized through AI-enhanced modeling and client collaboration. 6 Hillside Heights - Sunken room design.
With spectacular views across the bay from its elevated position on the hillside this home has the benefit of a large terrace with a sunken BBQ area plus a rooftop pool and relaxation area. Internally three rooms are depicted, a kitchen/dining space, a study and a central sitting area which also has a sunken central section. So happy to be back designing on Homestyler once again, a difficult few months of family bereavement have sadly kept me from creating any new designs. Have missed seeing everyones recent challenges and look forward to catching up with them.
