1.Learn more about transactions on Homestyler

Homestyler only supports in-platform transactions between designers (creators) and consumers.


Prohibited Off-Platform Transactions: Any transactions conducted through external channels (e.g., social media, personal accounts) are not protected by the platform and may lead to disputes or financial loss.

Once the designer leaves the trade, your exposure and order volume will decrease.


Phased Payments for Large Projects: We recommend designers initiate payment requests based on project milestones. Consumers must confirm payment only after each phase is accepted to mitigate risks associated with large lump-sum payments.


2.Connecting to PayPal / Stripe

Link your Homestyler account to our payment processor, PayPal/Stripe, to receive payments directly through Homestyler. You may request prepayments from clients before starting work.

Create a New PayPal /Stripe Account

If you don’t have a PayPal /Strip eaccount, you can create one for free.

Already Have a PayPal /Stripe Account?

Method 1: On Homestyler’s online chat page, click "Request Payment" to bind your PayPal/Stripe account.

Method 2: In "My Workspace", select "Edit - Account Management" (this is also where you can unbind the account).


3.How are payments to designers processed?

Homestyler currently supports designers initiating payments to consumers.

Designers can click "Request Payment" on Homestyler’s online chat page.


4.What are the fees?

Homestyler currently does not charge any platform fees to clients or designers. However, our payment processor, PayPal/Stripe, charges designers a transaction processing fee.

5.Can I choose which payment processor to use?

Currently, PayPal and Stripe are supported. We plan to integrate mainstream payment channels in the future. Please pay attention to platform announcements.


6.What Currency Does Homestyler Use for Transactions?

Unified Settlement Currency: All transactions are settled in USD.



7.What Tax Responsibilities Apply to Designers?

Nature of Income: Earnings received through Homestyler are taxable income. The platform does not assume responsibility for tax reporting or withholding.

U.S. Designer Requirement: Per U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations, U.S.-based designers with annual earnings exceeding $10,000 must provide 1099 tax form information.


8.How to Apply for a Refund?

Timeline Requirements: Submit refund requests within 14 calendar days of transaction confirmation via the official email: homestyler-support@service.alibaba.com.

Email must include:

Refund reason

Transaction order number

Supporting materials (e.g., undelivered project files, communication records).

Important Note: Refund requests will not be accepted if the project has been delivered and the transaction is confirmed beyond 14 days.
