I knew I wanted a simple rustic home with a centered round fireplace running right through the middle of the space. It determined the entire layout for the rest. This home is designed for someone who loves nature and living simply with a desire to still make use of modern luxuries and amenities.

I wanted the look of scattered autumn leaves on the ground. It may look a bit more like confetti up close, but it gets the idea across. XD
Harvested pumpkins are great as food, but any excess can serve as seasonal decor.

This is the main living space. A center fireplace serves to heat the home but also to cook the seasons harvested fruits and vegetables. More natural materials are used throughout to give it a more rustic feel.
The living room incorporates some less rustic pieces to give the space a bit more eclectic interest and character.
A small kitchen full of the season's bounty. A half-size fridge would be built into the lower cabinets to save space.
Firewood can be stored under the stairs. The back corner underneath the stairs has a washer/dryer machine behind a curtain to make the most of every part of the space.

The center fireplace still runs up through the upper floor, but has a small section notched out to allow a more modern gas fireplace. A glass screen creates a closet space in the doorway behind it and privacy for the bathroom on the opposite side.
The round window has a large ledge to provide another cozy space to sit and enjoy the autumn view.

Just because a person enjoys rustic elements doesn't mean they have to sacrifice luxury.
