Urban Geometrics
Situated bang smack in the heart of the city this urban pad designed for a single independently minded female occupant. The theme of this property is geometric pattern. Mostly shown in the choice of wallpapers but also in many of the furniture shapes and some artwork pieces. The theme has been used to create a sharp contemporary interior, uncluttered and bold. The colour pink is used throughout, blended with cranberry, mulberry. slate grey and black to produce a feminine but strong palette for today's modern woman. The apartment consists of a large kitchen/diner, spacious sitting room one bedroom with connecting bathroom and a stylish walled balcony terrace area complete with lap pool and small seating area. A hidden oasis in the heart of the city.
Directly off the High street and with views over the canal this apartment has prime access to city life..but not much privacy from prying eyes.
The walled garden area complete with lap pool is an unexpected treat, the planting has been chosen with its silvery hues to blend and reflect the walls and immediate structural elements.
Only glimpses of the citys' skyline will remind you of this properties location.
The raised lap pool area was my starting inspiration for this design.
More silvery planting, a small firepit and views through into the sitting room.
This area is minimal and discreetly furnished.
A favourite shot of mine .... I love the appearance of this area.
The covered walkway is needed for access between the areas making this terrace garden a room in its own right.
The hallway which lead through to the bedroom and bathroom has a office area and is decorated in colours that are continued throughout the home. Geometric wallpaper has been carefully selected to compliment the additional colours in the room.
Direct access to the garden, This room also doubles as a guest bedroom with the long ottoman acting as a single bed.
Furnishings have been chosen for their good looks and streamline qualities.
Home office area.
The window looks out over the canal.
Spacious bedroom with urban outlook. Discreet fireplace and some feline companionship.
The geometric theme is continued here with the choice of carpeting and I particularly like the addition of the textured circles on the feature wall.
View taken from behind the bed head.
Closeup of the textured feature wall.
The colours although deliberately feminine are also soothing and sophisticated.
Plenty of built-in storage with wardrobes and addition shelving on two walls... every woman needs her storage.
The kitchen space is large with a dining area to one end.
Deep cranberry coloured units are offset with soft grey flooring and baby pink upholstered seating.
The wall paper and artwork continue the geometric theme.
Triple aspect windows offer great urban views.
I imagine this kitchen as a great entertainment space, perfect for a single girl to host drinks parties.
Possibly my favourite room in the apartment this spacious sitting room has been dressed in furnishings that appeal to my own tastes and that continue the contemporary uncluttered style.
I love this colourful artwork and it seemed perfect for this space.
Views from the sofa out to the garden or to the right across the city.
Soft furnishings and choices of items pick up once again on the geometric theme.
The flash of bronze from the foliage perfectly picks up with the colours of this artwork.
Restful grown up femininity was the look I wanted to convey throughout this home.
This damson coloured chaise would also offer additional sleeping options, perfect for when you only have one bedroom.
Some more discreet touches of geometric from a few pieces placed on the shelving and the fabric on the round stool seating.
The shelving units offer a perfect textural feature and have been continued through into the dinning area.
Entering the bathroom where the flooring has been colour matched to the washable bold wallpaper. To one side of this L'Shaped room is a deep bathtub and split level vanity unit.
One wall is completely mirrored with long storage cupboards.
A walk-in shower is tucked around the corner... remember to close the blinds from passersby.
The mirrors create a optical illusion of geometric pattern.
Subtle brushed metallics blend with the smoky pinks and plums.
Although compact in size the streamline storage and positioning of items gives this room a feeling of spaciousness.
