Eco friendly design studio
This is a design studio that was created for a company who has the the well being of the planet and how everybody can contribute to reduce the damage caused by over industrialization. They used an existing warehouse building and with most of the original features and finishes intact and made it into an eco friendly space with a very casual and informal work aesthetic. Except for the office cubicles, all the other workspaces was left as open plan and in touch of nature as far as possible. The created different seating and working areas and a big terrace for taking a sun break.
Two wings was created, each with an own function and different work areas and it was joined by a curved reception lobby. Rustic brick, raw concrete, natural wood and plants were the main focus of interest.
This is the terrace onto which each of the two wings flows out. For lunch breaks, sun breaks and hopefully just the occasional smoke break. Or maybe just to cool adown after a very frustrating work session.
See the curved wall of the entrance lobby.
The office cubicles was designed and styled in a cookie cutter manor with the same layout and decor elements in all of them. Just the bare basics to make it a functional work space, but they allowed the employees to put their own stamp on their cubicle. Thus different style elements and colors.
Meet one of the happy employees!
Same layout and decor, different style elements and colored feature wall. Reflecting and different personality of worker.
This wing was created as an open space where board meetings could be held....if there's any, but mostly for big brainstorming sessions and design meetings.
The color in this case is on the floor.....under your feet!
Seating area in the 'boardroom'! and there's something sitting on a swing chair opening the design mind and letting the design juices flow!!
Direct access to the terrace...
This is the flow from this room into the lobby and right through to the other wing.
Office cubicle with yet another personality and color choice!
This is the last cubicle in the row and it's not difficult to know who the occupant is!
This is the exquisitely colored glass doors that leads one into the lobby.
Signage on the wall....say it all. Manufacturers of dreams!
The receptionist.... looking very pleased with herself An who wouldn't be working in this environment!
The name of the company. Roots....reminding us of where we come from and to keep ourselves rooted in the best way we can.
This is a narrow loft space created for more private meetings and when you need some quiet time for research. Running the length on top of the office cubicles.
Comfortable seating and a steaming cup of coffee!
Bathroom.....small but functional and very stylish.
This is called the auditorium, but it was just a name to choose for this wing of the building. It's where all the different work stations are. You already saw the cubicles for private meetings, but the work aesthetic of this company is to keep it as informal and casual as they can.
See the interesting choice of rugs for the cubicles. Everyone to put their feet on their own piece of lawn!
Staircase leading up to the loft area and the on the wall a reminder that the world is precious and one should look after her!
A wooden bench....for a meeting with a client....and fresh air coming in from the open doors!
Look at the view!
This work station is on another side of the auditorium and was designed in open plan work stations. Mind how they used plant throughout the whole building not only as decoration, but also to divide spaces up and create corners and some kind of privacy.
This work benches was supplied with colorful seating and of course laptops to work on.
Meet two of the employees.....one of whom certainly must've had a hand in painting one cubicle pink!
Another stylish bathroom.

Hi, just starting my way around it too. About your design, you own your design. HS own the web platform and the app we use to design which is why they ask permission from designers if they want to use the image for their promotions etc. like the recent one they had with the 3d furniture sale page they have in alibaba. They ask permission from designers and invite those who are willing to give them the rights to use, they compensate designers with subscriptions as well as mentioned the designer's name in the images they use.

Hi Rutchevelle! I love doing designs here! And no, it's for an imaginary client. Could I ask you something, as I know you're a professional designer. To whom does the designs we do on this platform belong? Do they belong to HS or to the designer? And are we allowed to sell our designs should somebody be interested? I'm not sure about the ethical stuff here?
