My luxury, the bath! Having lived in one or two places where showers are the only option makes me realise that a bath is important for me.

I am a creative soul. A view to the world is important, but also on a practical level, I need to go straight from garden to shower (and laundry!) when needed.

The space needs to feel inviting, beautiful, cosy, to be functional, multipurpose, and to hold interest in terms of textures and complimentary colours, as well as reflecting my personality, interests and experiences. A tall order for a small space.

The living room needs a space for relaxing after a long day, the rug and cushions are cosy next to an inspiring view.

Upstairs are two mezzanines, creatively using the space within the restrictions. The stairs are minimal, doubling as storage for essential things and books.

The whole room is planned around double concertina doors, opening to the fresh air, allowing inspiration for painting, or can be closed in colder weather, allowing other projects, such as sewing, or just relaxing with a book.

The sofa bench can be used as seating for dining with the fold out table and stools doubling as side tables. Or the sofa folds out to double the size for occasional guests to sleep.

The kitchen layout was modified to allow more storage but an airier feel in the middle of the room. Removing the wall cupboards allowed space for art.

Kitchen has a mini dishwasher, full size oven and hob, a fridge freezer and a large sink. Cabinets for storage, and the wheel arch.

A view from one of the beds, bright and airy for now. But I shall need to put more thought into storage solutions up here that don't make the space feel cramped, or close off the room below.
