Modern House
My aim was to create a modern and edgy space, which I'm pretty happy with, although it could be even edgier.
Stairs and first floors are still a challenge, but challenges were made to be conquered.
Despite the modern theme my love for colour is still very present. :)
OPEN FLOOR PLAN was the basis for my modern house.
The ground floor is for socialising and entertaining, the first floor is strictly for privacy.
The kitchen separates the living and dining spaces, which is why it is very open and light, constisting mostly of base cabinets and countertops in white. Touches of fuchsia add a splash of colour.
The bathroom is separated by black-framed glass walls from the rest of the space.
For more privacy blinds can be lowered on all windows.
On the first floor the bathroom is located directly above the office.
White and aqua are the colours that dominate this room, while the large windows and a few skylights add light and air to the space.
On the ground floor the office, in neutral colours with splashes of blue, overlooks the entire space.
...leading to the spacious bedroom, gym, reading/relaxing space and bathroom.
The steps lead up to the first floor...
The bathroom on the ground floor is held in a crisp white and sparkly silver-gray.
The first floor offers a reading/relaxing area in neutral colours, separated from a small gym by lush plants and an aquarium.
Bright red is the dominant colour in the living area!
Separated from the bedroom on the first floor by a screen is a small laundry area.
It was a challenge finding a suitable space for something as mundane as a washer/dryer in a house with mostly glass walls, and I'm still looking for a better location.
Another view of the office on the ground floor.
The small gym: cardio and weights.
The bedroom is separated from the gym area by plants and a media-unit with a ginormous TV.
Located above the dining room is the classy bedroom, held in earthy tones of brown and gold.
Golden accents give the dining area a sophisticated edge.
Unfortunately the bar that was placed against the wall in the background doesn't show up on the renders...I have no idea why!
