By removing an inner wall and blocking the doorway from the narrow hallway, we are able to curve the kitchen units around the wall curve into an uninterrupted unit. Lucy can have a modern kitchen at one end and retain the period features and vintage look near the fireplace at the other end.
Lucy's modern kitchen, with dining table, original fireplace, vintage furniture, wall sconces and accessories.
I love this area of the room which has been furnished with antique furniture and vintage accessories and metal wall sconces. The low casement window has been preserved and made into a charming window seat which overlooks the garden.
Lucy would like modern grey kitchen units and shelving. The original wall curve is shown in the far corner. I suspect this is the neighbouring house spiral staircase space. By curving the units around, we are able to provide an interrupted kitchen line of units and preserve the original feature.
I love the window seat

Sorry to take so long to respond. Click on a wall and the pop up menu will give you options, one of them is arc wall. Clicking on that curves the wall, but its tricky, depending on which way you want the wall to arc!

It's a really nice kitchen and looks like some one's home, not some movie or TV. I only wish that I could see the rest of the house.

Thank you Helen, it was a real opportunity to figure out how to put a modern kitchen without destroying the charm of such a historical setting.
