Lyla took in the sight of her new bedroom. She would never admit it to her parents, and she even denied it to herself, but this bedroom was amazing. Lyla wasn’t talking to her parents. She hadn’t, barely, ever since they moved to bleak, boring, Kansas. Used to the city, she was disgusted at the idea of country life. Her new house was small, smaller than their old house in Philadelphia. She was stuck up in the attic, which had been gross prior to the renovation.
