What the Art Deco Challenge Description should have been:Art Deco - Arts Décoratifs (Decorative Arts) is an architectural style that started in the 1910s in France. It became popular in Europe and USA between World War 1 and World War 2. It is characterized by:
▪︎ luxurious materials (marble, gold, bronze, velvet, dark woods, and after 1930s - the newly invented chrome);
▪︎bold and saturated colors and patterns (especially geometric patterns);
▪︎ incorporated art by modern artists, like Pablo Picaso and Gustav Klimt;
▪︎ for the first time, included mass-produced Advertising Posters and wallpaper in the 1920s;
▪︎paid attention to sleek and angular lines in furniture, made by skilled craftsmen.
▪︎ The style also included Asian, Egyptian, and even Mayan artifacts because world travel became more accessible by plane.
