This room is inspired by the Finnish houses, where the dining room, kitchen and living room, can all be in the same space. The house has lots of wooden elements which is typical for Finnish houses. The furniture is also inspired by the forest and nature. The tables remind me of my grandparents who were really skilled. They have done similar tables by hand - and that is very respectable. Most of Finns know someone who hunts, so there is deer antlers on the wall. On the other wall, there is nature inspired clock with spruce tree and a moose. Many Finns know the term "räsymatto". It means homemade carpet from old textiles such as old bed sheets, clothes or other fabrics. The carpet on the floor is a great example how to recycle your old textiles. This room is tribute to the Finnish nature and handcrafting skills.
