Geometric: Labyrinth house
In ancient times the labyrinth, that consists of a selection of closed and open passages, was designed as a tool to foster contemplation and spiritual transformation. Geometry is characterized by a repeat of regular shapes and lines. With the labyrinth as inspiration and the use of a repetition of linear shapes and lines, this design was created. This is also an invitation to not only travel deeper into the labyrinth of this house, but also travel deeper into your own soul and may you find clarity on your way and deep peace in the inner core! Be blessed in this new year! Modern two bed- two bathroom house with inter connecting hallways that flow out to the garden. Shaped like a labyrinth. Starting in the garden and taking the visitor deeper into the center of the house. Minimalist inspired décor.
It was difficult to show the big picture of how all the different passages are inter connected to each other leading the visitor on a journey. As you'll see from the pictures, the garden was done in a minimalist style with repetition of the same hedge making the big impact.
They used a paving in a block pattern to accentuate the geometry of linear lines.
The garden furniture used were modern and minimalist, but with great effect.
Try and imagine how you enter the maze on the right had side and how it leads you deeper and deeper until you reach the entrance into the house....
In the parklike environment, the house feel right in place and ever welcome.
Mazes and lollipops!
This is a courtyard on the front of the house where you get a connection of different entrances into the house.
Calm, peaceful.....restful
From inside the courtyard looking out into the maze....wondering where it will lead you...
From this courtyard there's entrances into the house at the main bedroom, living room and to the deepest center of the house.
The second bathroom where linear lines meet up with cylinder shaped vanities.
Power shower....
Main bathroom with it's gorgeous geometric shaped wall treatment. The shapes also repeated in the vanity cabinet, but still in a minimalist style inspiration.
Just a small touch of wood.....just to celebrate a bit of nature....
The bathroom flows into a dressing room and then further on into the bedroom.
The master bedroom is spacious and comfortable. As you would've seen by now is the color palette of the house mainly white with small touches of color.
The bed.....so serene and tranquil.....and the very picture of calm and rest....
They used the same bay window throughout the house to let in as much natural light as possible.
This hallway flows through the house and take the visitor deeper into the house to the center space. The white color palette was used to enhance the feeling of a spiritual journey deeper into the self and leaving behind all the clutter and unwanted feelings and belongings.
In this part of the hallway there is an door flowing out to the courtyard and then to the left, the deepest center of the house which is a small office area designed for much needed quiet time.
This is the view from sitting behind the desk and looking towards the courtyard.
Looking into the most quiet space in the center of the house....sitting there and finding yourself.....and then make peace!
The desk area in the office. The clock on the wall.....not to rush you, just to make you aware of time and how there is a time for everything.
The kitchen.....clean, minimalist and clutter free....and did I say stunning?
In this kitchen there is no space for clutter...
This is a new definition of the 'kitchen table' ! A gorgeous glass table where tea will be served and heart to hearts will be spoken......
Seating corner in the kitchen area.
In the spacious living room is this more formal dining area.
Think clean lines, think minimalist, think tranquility.....
And on the other side a spacious and comfortable seating area by the fireplace.
The living area flows out into the courtyard at the front of the house.
This is the small courtyard at the back of the house....leading out to the garden maze
The second bedroom has the same very calm and peaceful ambience as the main bedroom. Spacious and comfortable and with it's own en suite bathroom.
White and minimalist.....

Ohh how elegant classy and clever ... your labyrinth idea was so inspired and original and wandering around the gorgeous leafy grounds I felt I was in the suburbs of Paris in a select parisian chateaux. You used the geometric elements of this design in such a discreet way... but if you looked they were there in abundance...cleverly woven into the very fabric and structure of this gorgeous design...Terrific design Hester you have made this theme such a' tres chic' affair.. definitely a love affair for me!!!
