When I think of Halloween, I don't think of a kid's holiday, but rather a dark and moody night. I took inspiration from the queen and king of dark romance- Morticia and Gomez Addams. I used reflective materials and contrasted them with matte tile. I wanted a functional space that could also be used for an intimate soak in the tub. I wanted the bathtub to be the show stopper in this room. That's why I elevated the floor, added an ornate and mirrored ceiling. I also added different textures like the glossy black porcelain tub, the matte floor tile, and hints of gold from the hardware.
I wanted to have the bathroom be spacious, while also feeling cozy. It should be functional, while also having style. having the toilet in it's own room encourages romance in here, and I wanted the elevated tub-for-two to be the star of the show, so I placed it directly across the entrance.
I pulled a lot of inspiration from this design from my actual master bathroom. I love using a monochromatic color pallet and playing with different sheens and textures. The pop of gold gives it a touch of luxury and the variety of light and candles gives it a romantic vibe.
