Greek Inspired Sitting Room
The formal sitting room is designed with accents of ancient Greece in mind, from the raw materials to the smallest detail on furnishings and décor. Although a formal space, it is not meant to feel unlivable, rather it is meant to welcome you in and make you feel the warmth of the finest elements of style and give you the sense that you have been transported to Greece itself.平面布置图 41.22㎡
The Sitting room is 279.22 ft. sq. or 15'9" x 17'9", the small entryway is 99.83 ft. sq. and the hallway which would lead to other rooms such as a guest bathroom/main floor bathroom is 28.52 ft. sq.

View as you enter the space. Balance and symmetry where used to create formality. The 7-light chandelier has elements of both Greek and Roman design and although historically inaccurate the use of brass brings in an element of modernity and glamour.
Here you can see some of the coffered ceiling which according to homestyler is a "modern Chinese-style ceiling". However the geometric indentation from the corners has elements of a Grecian style ceiling, paired with a three-tier step crown molding to create depth to the ceiling.
Swaged Roman shades in a taupe linen/flax add warmth to the windows. A vase lamp with Greek key painted designs sits on a round flared-leg side table which is placed between two matching Greek inspired armchairs upholstered in a performance microfiber in a royal blue (Atlantic/Mediterranean blue).
Two Grecian statue columns frame the entrance. To the right as you enter is a chaise lounge and to the left a small bench both upholstered in light fabrics. Paintings hang on each side to add interest and color.
The chaise lounge sits at an angle to face the center of the room (best for conversation and lounging). A brass lamp and a small cherry side table with flip up top and hidden compartment sit between the lounge and fireplace. The lampshade has a Grecian trim and pleats to create texture and detail.
The coffee table is a rustic style bleached wood which brings a natural grounded quality to the center of the space, a pot of white lavender sits in a wooden tray on top. White marble and plaster surround the fireplace which is centered on the back wall, matching elements to the entrance columns.
The main couch is ornately carved from a light wood (white oak or similar). The fabric is a neutral white/beige high performance poly-linen fabric with white linen throw pillows and a geo-pleated decorative pillow in a sandy satin. A round gold mirror hangs centered above.
The floor is a herringbone-laid white marble tile with light gray grout. The baseboards mirror elements of the crown molding. Centered under the coffee table is a 10' x 12' natural jute rug with tassels to bring warmth and softness to the space.
To the left of the fireplace a small 9 drawer hutch with multiple style pulls in brass brings your eye across to the large potted tree in the corner. This hutch along with the coffee table provide great places for décor, and practically provides a place to set a drink etc.
In the evening the cooler whites are warmed by the low light and the space becomes even more cozy.
When the shades are pulled down they will provide privacy while still letting in a little light (they would be thicker than they appear in these renders providing more privacy + light blocking).
At night the fireplace will add to the overall ambiance in the space. The mantle gives room for any statues or Grecian busts (you could also add a vase of flowers, eucalyptus or even an olive branch as I've done here).
