Oriental garden inspired
This is a design made for a client to show her Oriental inspired guest suite at the end of the courtyard garden. The main focus on the house was in the guest suite and the living/dining/ kitchen area that was created for the use of the guests. They worked with a dark and more traditional Chinese palette and style with the dark ebony walls and floors. An with it the touches of Red which is so traditional a good luck color! The neutrals was also highlighted with blue tones and the use of a rich gold! The house was planned with a courtyard which connected the guest suite with the main house. The spectacular courtyard garden is one of the main attractions of guests coming back to this establishment. In the aerial picture the two interior doors was blown up to the sky😒! 🤷♀️🤦♀️. Not planned!
This the 'round table'. A small seating area in the one part of the courtyard beside a water feature that runs the length of the area. It was set for having tea outside.
The wooden screen that separate the two areas in the courtyard.
This is what they are calling their 'runway'! A strip of cement paving blocks leading from the living room all the way down the courtyard to the entrance of the guest room suite.
The sound of water is always calming and relaxing. That is the function of this little koi dam by the entrance to the guest suite.
On the side of the runway is a seating area where guests can sit and relax and take in the views of the garden.
This water feature runs the length of the wall from the guest bathroom to the entrance into the dining room. And on this patio a low table was set for having tea in the garden.
There you can see the arched screen that separates the two areas of the courtyard and makes a spectacular feature in the space.
On this side of the patio is the entrance into the dining room.
On this side of the patio is the entrance to the guest bathroom.
This is the vanity area of the guest bathroom. Double vanity and shower and toilet on the one side of the space. The reflections in the deep black marble on the wall and in the mirrors, paired with the richness of gold makes a beautiful effect.
The arched screens was used to great effect through the whole house. In the bathroom it was used in a rich gold tone to accentuate the luxury finishes of the bathroom.
The soaker tub was flanked with beautiful Silk screens and cabinets stocked with luxury bath products.
This is the bathroom entrance from the room and a full length mirror for the convenience of the guests.
On this side of the bathroom with the vanity area are the impressive golden shower and toilet area.
The kitchen is small but well proportioned for the use of guests to cater for their cooking needs.
The dark ebony wall finish with the sunlight streaming in from the window creates magic together.
The living room has features all around the space. As the walls, floors and furniture was all chosen in dark wood tones, features like this lighted cabinet really stands out.
Mood lights plays an important role in this space. This light is just enough to highlight the area around it with a beautiful glow.
There it is! The touch of red bring joy and passion in the room.
In this picture is the arched screen between the living and dining room visible. This time the screen was made of a rich dark wood and with ample storage built in. Also see the beautiful traditional lights hanging above the table.
In the dining room the furniture was chosen in a traditional style and in dark wood tones. Mood lighting was chosen to highlight the exquisite artwork on the walls.
From this angle one can experience the glow of the light and see the gorgeous wood carving on the screen. Also appreciate the exquisite collections in the shelves.
Back in the living room to observe the two traditional wooden chairs and behind them the painted screens on the walls.
In this picture one can't help but gasp at the painted screens behind the couch!
In the dining room, looking out into the patio with it's water feature. The drapes was chosen in a wonderful turquoise blue to bring richness of color into the space.
This picture of the bedroom welcomes you in with a rosy glow on the ceiling where the light plays with the reds!
In this room two royal colors was used together with rich gold to create a room so glorious and luxurious one never wants to leave. Red and blue!
They used the gold four poster bed to accentuate the luxury feel of the room. The golden throne they call it.
From here you can see out into the courtyard, all the way down the runway!!
In the room they continued the use of dark ebony wood tones, which makes the wardrobe almost disappear against the wall.
At the back wall of the bed was this impressive painted screen fitted into a wooden framework and what a lovely backdrop it is for the bed. The cage lights was so fitted as a play on the birds on the screen.
I'll talk to you soon!
