My preference is to design apartments because I always struggle with floor plans and house floor plans can be absolute nightmares, but I'm really proud of the layout and general design of this project. I wavered between design styles in certain parts, finding the main one difficult to pinpoint, which may be clear as you see more images.

Floor Plan 294.63㎡

The floor plan was very difficult to construct, and something I always struggle with when designing. The key here is the kitchen being something of an addition, with the right side of the main floor be functional. I kept on adding to the size while designing in order to accommodate the upper floor.

Bedroom at the front. Was inspired by warm colours, so I thought red was very nice. I had a devil of a time with the layout, but I'm happy with how it ended.

Another room where the layout kept being difficult. This one had to have flowers because I thought with the neutral browns and greys it needed some life to it.

Very simple, not much to say on this,

This would be the guest bedroom. I had trouble fitting everything until I realized I could build the closet into the walls to provide adequate space to the next door bathroom.

Whether or not the sliding doors would lead to something or simply be like windows was a last minute decision. Originally I would not have had a deck, to allow more sunlight to the deck on the first floor, but I thought there was no harm in adding one to the second floor.

Originally I would have had the bed on the wall to the right, but I'd already planned to have the back windows spaced that way to match the kitchen below, and it ended up working marvelously. I also wanted a place to sit, so the chairs moved around a few times before the ended at the end of the bed.

Dining Room and Kitchen

The dining room didn't change much through the process. I kept it straightforward, and I believe it fit well with the general flow of the house. though I might remove the left wall opening and instead demolish the wall for easier access.

The kitchen; I struggled with the layout because I wanted it to be as functional as possible. Originally the stove was between the door and far window and the middle window was not there, but nothing really fit until the design became what it is now. The pantry is to the side with the black doors.

Not my best work, I just wanted a simple bathroom. You can see where the walls were brought in to allow for closet space in the guest bedroom. Let's not look at it too long...

Living Room

This entryway took 1000 different versions before I found one that worked; I was actually up at night thinking over it. You can see the closet space, the powder room which is the door on the left, and the stairs to the second floor. I made sure to have windows to bring in as much light as possible.

The living room was one of the first problems I tackled and remained practically unchanged as I went through the process of the rest of the house. I like the window seating and in general how many places there are to sit. This would not be a tv room, which I would put in the hypothetical basement.
