Vancouver Condo

Floor Plan 73㎡

I went with an open floor plan featuring very few walls. This increased the natural light distribution and maximizes on the little space available.

The main feature of the balcony is a hammock rather than a chair. Since the condo is targeted towards singles in the big city of Vancouver, I figured something loose and relaxing would be nice after a hard day of work.

Living Room

This is the dedicated free space of the unit. Currently I've used it for a Christmas tree and presents, but it's proximity to natural lighting makes it very fitting for most hobbies. For example, crafting, playing an instrument, gardening, and exercises.

Since the living room is small, I raised everything off the ground to increase the feeling of space. The various floating shelves also provide plenty of storage for books, and other accessories.

To save space, I combined the kitchen and dining area into one. Since I personally enjoy cooking, and the pandemic has made eating out much harder, I fit in a full fridge, stove top, and microwave oven. Nearly a full kitchen!

This is the entrance and laundry. Since I don't wear shoes inside my own home, I provided plenty of space for outdoor shoes to be stored, as well as a spot for indoor slippers. The corner also provides a nice place to store larger cleaning tools.

This is the bedroom and work space. To maximize the natural light, I only split off this space with a slotted screen and shelving. Since the unit is targeted to single owners, privacy from the kitchen isn't too necessary, while the shelving still provides good privacy from the city.

Bathroom

Although it is small, the bathroom contains all the necessities. Since bathrooms are often tiled and waterproofed, they can feel cold. So I made sure to add a cute bear painting as well as a comfy robe.
