CITY APARTMENT
I wanted to design an apartment that is suited for luxurious and modern city living with wide open plan spaces.
I wanted to be able to create a flexible indoor/outdoor space that complements city living, which creates a fresh and modern vibe within the space.
The pool area is fresh and light, with uses of monochromatic tones to create a sleek appearance.
The is lovely sheltered corner which houses a log-burner making it the perfect place to entertain both day and night.
The gym has easy access to the living room through a spacious airy corridor. It is also linked to the pool area through folding glass doors and shallow steps.
With the gym the large windows similar to most rooms helps to bring in plenty of light to create an airy space. The gym itself is spacious has compartentalised sections for each speciality.
Different modern lighting fixtures allows the different entertaining sections to be divided whilst still maintaing the open plan.
The office nook is perfect for being able to keep up with work without having to be excluded to a seperate study. Through being seperated from the main living space by only a room divider it allows the space to feel more laid back and the evironment is more calming.
Different seating areas allow the livingroom to be extremely flexible and multifunctional, perfect for entertaining guests.
The flexibility of the main living area is one of it's best qualities with dividers sectioning off the study whilst still allowing the wholeroom to be one.
The livingroom leads straight on through to the entertainment areas of the kitchen and dining room, perfect for hosting.
Throughout the apartment modern art and plants are brought in to give each room colour and interest.
The dining room is lit beautifully similar to most room in the apartment with large windows and beautiful innovative light fixtures. There is also plenty of space around he large dining table to host many guests and there is also ample space for storage of china and glassware.
The island is perfect size to also be used as a breakfast bar for busy mornings.
The kitchen has ample working space with a sleek island situated in the middle, with simple grey toned kitcchen appliances. A sophisticated seating area is nearby allowing the oppotunity to host guests whilst still being able to utilise the kitchen facilities.
The bedroom utilises neutral tones to create a calmind atosphere. It has it's own seating area making it the perfect area to escape and chill.
The bedroom is joined to the pool area to create a beautiful ambience and open feel.
I wanted to be able to section off different areas to help create a functional bedroom area.
In this dressing and closet area I made sure to use more neutral tones o create a claming mood. I also styled with more laid back items that create a chilled vibe.
Giving the bedroom easy access to the pool area creates better utility and allows good flow.
The balcony / patio leading off from the bedroom brings in an element of the outdoors back into the bedroom setting and allowing space for extra luxuries such as a firepit and jacuzzi that are not in the main garden.
