What Are “Parametric Stairs”?
“Parametric” means you control every dimension. Change the width, height, number of steps, or angle—and the entire staircase updates automatically to stay structurally accurate. No manual redrawing needed!
Create Your Perfect Staircase in 4 Simple Steps
Step 1: Open the Parametric Stairs Tool
Go to "Structure > Stairs" in the left catalog. Choose Stairs or Step, then drag your selected style onto the canvas. In the right panel, switch between types like:
- Straight Run (with or without handrail)
- L-Shaped (Quarter-Turn)
- U-Shaped (Two-flight)
- Spiral
You can also find these parametric stairs from "Decorate - Structure - Stairs - Parametric stairs" in the left catalog.
Step 2: Place the Staircase
Drop it into your floor plan. The height will auto-adjust to match your floor-to-floor distance.
Step 3: Fine-tune all parameters or change the material
With the staircase selected, use the right-side property panel to adjust:
* Basic Parameters：Width, Lenght, Height, Elevation, Rotation Angle
* Step Details: Step Parameters, Edge & Light Band, Handrail
Switch to the "Style" tab to change materials for treads, kick, pillar, and handrail
Step 4: Cut an Opening in the Upper Floor
From the lower left corner, click the plus icon to add a floor.
Switch to the floor above (e.g., if stairs start on Floor 1, go to Floor 2).
Click the "Edit Floor Slab" button on the lower right corner.
Draw an opening that matches your staircase footprint with the drawing tools above.
Select the opening and fine-tune its position by entering distances from nearby walls.
Exit editing mode to see your seamless, multi-level staircase!
