I’m new here, but I just wanted to say how amazing this forum is, so full of ideas and inspiration!
I’m not an architect or an interior designer, but I’m hoping someone can help me make better use of the space in our home.
We’d like to start with the living area on the lower floor, where we’d love to have an open-plan living room and kitchen, a small study or home office, and a guest bathroom (just a toilet and a sink would be fine).
On the upper floor, we’d like to create the sleeping area, with three bedrooms (a master and two smaller rooms for my two daughters), two bathrooms, and a laundry room with a washer and dryer.
Since it’s a duplex, we’d like to keep the existing entrance door and have a small hallway or landing area where the staircase from the lower floor comes up (the white rectangle roughly shows where the stairs arrive).
As for the furniture: it’s not binding at all — the kitchen will be completely designed from scratch, and the one shown on the plan is just an idea.
Only the master bedroom represents our current furniture, which we’d like to keep if possible.
