Hello, you can customize your preference in 'Setting' option on this issue:

I agree, it occupies the worst possible place... When I want to adjust the distance between furnitures the toolbar hides the measurement.. I have to move the toolbar to see the measurement, but the moment I try to move the furniture again the toolbar hides it again already, so that I have to keep guessing the distance. I cannto believe no one has this problem. And this is just one example :(
