Hi, Is it possible to create windows different than just squares or round shaped on the top (which are available in model library)? I would like to create for example triangle shaped windows and I can't find any option which could allow me that. Thanks

I think I know what happened. For the effect you want, you cant make a custom window and place it in a regular wall. You need to delete the regular wall, go to custom modeling, map out with guidelines where you want the wall. Draw the wall--flat plane-DO NOT Extrude. Measure and draw guidelines for the triangle window. Use line tool to make the triangle. Then delete the triangle area...then extrude the wall to the width you need. Then you can place the glass panel inside the wall for the glass. That's the easiest way to do it. 1/2 @ Eduard Rybár

Screen shot/1K render shows exact same window configuration....Went back in and on left window, traced the window opening using the line tool, extruded it in 4" (its an 8" wall), applied tinted blue glass texture (that's why it appears darker than window on right-room behind windows has white walls) lighting isn't great but you can see the effect. Then added molding to edges-just for fun! Hope this all helped.

Screen shot attached shows custom model wall with window area using glass panel 2. There are regular walls on both sides of each 'window' and the middle white part is a regular wall. Glass panel 2 doesn't go all the way up/over so you can see how it can be hidden inside the wall. This method is a custom model rectangle matching front of wall. Line tool used to make window, which is then deleted and the remaining part is extruded to match the width of the wall.

Screen shot attached shows how the 3rd method will look. On the left regular window (model 549463 w/o pocket) in wall, custom modeling the window area and cutting out the circle for the window. On the right is a triangle on a regular window (model 550842 w/o pocket)...custom model extruded to the with of the regular wall. This method works best with regular color or texture.....no tiling!

There is a 3rd way.......place a plain window with out the pocket, make it larger than the planned triangle window. Go to custom modeling, use rectangle tool to trace the window opening. Then use the line tool to make your triangle. make sure the triangle is smaller than the window opening. Delete the triangle shape and then extrude to match the width of the wall. Just remember texture applied to the wall will have to be the same as custom model. @ Eduard Rybár

2/2 Or do the exact same thing up until after drawing the triangle extrude the area outside of the triangle to make the width of the wall. On the opposite side of where you are working, your going to have to close the wall up manually-using the line tool. Then you can apply clear glass 25 to the triangle for the window glass. @ Eduard Rybár

Glass material like Clear Glass 25 will only look transparent in speed preview/renders. You can also use Glass partition 2 ID 51822651 & place it in the wall to appear as the window glass. When making a regular wall glass make sure you apply the material to both sides of the wall....or replace/delete wall & replace with glass panel 2.

I proceeded as follows: at first I splited the wall two times on the place where I want to place the triangle window. Then I set thickness of this part to 30 mm and changed the material to model Clear glass 25. The wall changed to transparent. Super. But then I drawed the triangle with function Customize wall and the transparention dissapeard, although I set the same glass material for triangle part. What was wrong in my proccess? @ Grace Simmons

From that moment whole glass part of wall changed to untransparent. @ Grace Simmons

I am tried to create triangle window as Dominika wanted, in Interior modeling and with Customize wall, but window is not transparent, algought I set glass material for it and also for wall behind the object.

HI, if you cannot find a desirable model, you could do the modeling yourself with our "Interior modeling", or you could upload the 3d models in .max or .skp format.
