Modern Goth

When I saw the Gothic challenge I didn't think of ornate and ominous looking cathedrals, from the middle ages. I thought of my youth listening to Coctaeu Twins, and The Smiths, wearing lots of black eyeliner and fishnets. So this design is a tribute to a more modern Gothic style which for me is a kind of melancholy lavishness. Rich textiles, velvets, and silks, with a hint of death. Goth is beautiful but tragic. Like a silent screen star, with her dark makeup and untimely death. It's a place where a vampire could be comfortable living out his or her eternity.
