Inspired by BURSA Hotel, Kyev The BauHaus (Building House) style started in Germany in 1919 by architect Walter Gropius, founder of the Staatliches Bauhaus School for Design. At the same time as Europe and USA were swept by Art Deco, Bauhaus had the exact opposite message. Where Art Deco was about luxury, Bauhaus was about equality. Some characteristics of the style: * Form follows function * Less is more * Practical, austere, minimalist, simple, and rectangular shapes. * Mass-produced and machine made furniture (because after World War 1, there was over-industrialization) * Modern materials: concrete, steel, plastic, glass.
