Shabby Chic Cottage-style Living Room
This shabby chic living room is perfect for anyone who loves pastels and cottage living! The color palette was inspired by a small cottage-style house in my local neighborhood. The butter-yellow walls and taupe wainscotting are complemented by the crisp white trim, the warm wood floor, and ceiling beams, and accents of slate blue and pastel pink. This room is cheerful and bright with plenty of natural light throughout the day!フロアプラン 62.55㎡

The main Seating area features two 3 seater vintage style couches in pink performance fabric, two slipcovered chairs in white linen, and a reclaimed wood oval coffee table centered in front of a vintage working wood fireplace. The farmhouse-style floor, ceiling, and rug bring in warmth and texture.
Two shabby chic white distressed side tables sit on either side of the fireplace in front of the windows. The mantle leaves space for artwork and decor above the fireplace which is the main focal point of the space. A floor lamp, table lamp, and chandelier are featured in this image.
The second seating area is in the far right corner of the room and features two wingback chairs and a small round tea/card table made of whitewashed hardwood. This seating area faces toward the back porch sliding door which features a garden view.
At night the space is bathed with warm light from all the task lights. There is also a 6-8-light chandelier in bronze with brass accents and white shades.
The second seating area is a bit more cottage than shabby chic, with taupe and lavender plaid, with a small round table in between perfect for tea time! this space is grounded by a neutral woven rug and centered on a window.
Placed by the sliding door is a narrow vintage desk with the same white distressed paint as the two matching side tables in the main seating area. A vintage umbrella lamp is the perfect task lighting for garden planning, paying bills, studying, and more.
This yellow lamp matches the tone of the walls and gives added mood lighting in the evenings.
Here is the view from the desk area toward the hallway. You can see the sliding doors to the back porch to the right. Next to the doors is a small table that can be used as a drop-off point. There is a tan vintage/rustic hutch in the hallway with a large gold frame mirror and potted plant on top.
A breakfront sits to the right of the entry off the hallway. The Slate blue is also used as the accent color in the hallway.
Above the desk area is a space for artwork with a picture lamp above. Here I have placed a still life of wildflowers and onions to play off the cottage-garden theme. You can also see a light switch to the left side of the desk which is easily accessed off the porch door for the main light and porch.
There is an overhead can light placed centered on the blue breakfront and the porch doors to bring light to that area of the room.
Here you can see where I have placed all lighting in the main seating area. This also gives you some idea of how the space might look at night without the fireplace lit.
Here is a closer look at the warm wood side table next to the white slipcover chair and the white marble-look ceramic table lamp on top.
