#KitchenContest : modern country kitchen
For this kitchen bespoke cabinets were made for the owner. They used a combination of a black wood grain veneer and a medium tone real wood to achieve the modern country feel that was the goal. The wood tones was paired with more industrial elements like the steel doors and other metal finishes. The space was divided into three sections namely a laundry room, a work station area and the main kitchen area which opened up into a living space. The dining table was made part of the kitchen island like a good old kitchen table!

On the floorplan you can see the open plan kitchen, dining and living area, but also the hallway which with doors on either side will lead to the sleeping quarters, but was not the focus of this design.

In the next few pictures you'll see the bespoke kitchen cabinets from different angles.
In this picture on the right is the office work station with storage and that leads into the laundry room.
The view from standing in the kitchen area and looking into the living space where there's a welcoming fire on the go.
The work station is bathed in sunlight and has the most wonderful view out into the parkland garden.
From the dining table looking into the sitting area. The built in television by the fire makes for lots of happy family moments.
Of course Felicity is part of the household! Always on the watch.

From this angle you can see the front door and entrance hallway from which the rest of the house will flow.
Laundry Room
The laundry room and scullery was combined in one space and the same bespoke cabinets were designed and constructed to the needs of the homeowner. In the next few pictures you'll see the layout of the space and how it flows out into a small pergola at the back.
Doing dishes in this house is never a chore....always a pleasure!

Sleek, classy, sexy updated take on a country kitchen design... beautifully incorporating the customised units. Gorgeous combination of the honey toned woods with the black. This interior was so masterfully crafted and an unbelievable feat considering the small window of time you did this task in
The sitting area was a joy and I was loving the laundry area...and wishing i had it in my own home. Actually I'd love this WHOLE interior in my home. Great job as ALWAYS Hester xx

This is one of the most beautiful kitchens and surrounding work areas I have ever seen anywhere!! I would love to have this exact look in my own home. You figured out those custom cabinets so quickly! The finishes are gorgeous, the layout is perfect, and the whole vibe is just so inviting and cozy while still being uncluttered and so "LAGOM"!!! I love this!
