Tiny Office
I wanted to push this tiny room open as best I could. I have a big storage closet in my apartment that looks like a small office. I designed this for that small room. I wanted it to be functional, roomy, and plenty of shelf space and interchangeable pieces to accommodate the space. I used a floating desk to keep extra space underneath as much furniture as possible from being overwhelmed with legs, as much as I love legs on furniture! I used a long waterfall edged table as the desk chair to be able to push it under the desk when not used and doubles as an extra surface. The stark white chases' backs lift and lay down for a more loungy-like comfort. So, I could go from sitting at the desk to easily slide onto one of the lounges. Also, this allows for room to craft, which I enjoy with my daughter quite a lot. I chose a flowery wallpaper on either sides of the walls to create the illusion of a wider open space, also to pull the outdoors in. I brought the ceiling up with a vertical pattern with faux texture for a more earthy appeal. I paired the wallpaper with the hanging branch to again draw the eye outside in. The rug was for a surprise element, which I love to see in softer spaces. Married it the grey pendants and ash tray on top of matching books. I like the way the colors and textures play and draw your eyes from the outside toward inside and outward with the walls. It feels comfortable, roomy and easy going. Tried not to get too "designy" rather more practical for such a tiny space and its multiple uses.
