The Tiger house is a T-shaped block of high rise apartments in the city. The apartment are on two levels with the main floor as living area and the top floor as a sleeping quarter. Two bedrooms sharing a bathroom, although the second bedroom was used as a study/office area.
This is the second bedroom that was used as an office/study area.....and with the elements of the tiger ever present to remind of a new year that needs to be addressed with confidence and faith in the best outcome!
They fitted a murphy bed into the room which will be folded back neatly into the cupboard for most of the time, but oh so handy and easy for a sleepover!
There is a small balcony off the living area which was dressed as a small outside living space. Fresh air and magnificent city views are the main attraction here!
Looking from the outside in. See the strong industrial bones of the structure: steel, concrete and wood!
This is the entrance into the space with the front door at the far end. The staircase leading up to the sleeping quarters were kept industrial in it's built and appearance.
This is the view from the front door looking towards the living areas. The tiger on the far wall beckoning you to enter.....
On the wall of the entrance area they used an embossed wallpaper in linear patterns to pair with the lines of the staircase and to compliment the stripes of the tiger.
The kitchen has the most wonderful view out onto the city. A reminder that sometimes you need the courage of a tiger to survive in this urban jungle!
From the kitchen island is this view into the rest of the room. The dining space wedged in between the kitchen and the living room.
The dining table is big enough to seat enough guests for a good dinner party!
See the big doors leading out on the small balcony, picking up the colors of the city and depositing them into the space.
This s the seating area of the living room. With a little tiger under the foot and a little tiger cat doing what she knows best: sleeping in the jungle in the city!
The play of splashes of color with the graphic lines black, the soft tiger rug with the all the black steel and strong wood tones.....a match made in heaven?
This house has a strong message of being strong and courageous and it was displayed in not only the brave and bold color and finishes, but also in the décor elements and art choices.
The bedroom.....the tiger in the bedroom.....need I say more?
Rich wood tones behind the bed and again the colors of the city so masterfully spread through the room.
The breeze blowing in from the big window.....
The bathroom was fitted with a shower and double vanity and then strewn with the colors of nature in it's boldest!
Looking in the mirror and recognizing the strength you have to face the day with braveness and courage!
Coming up from the stairs into a small landing space and a small hallway into which all the doors flow out.
This is the landing spot....the spot where you land every morning praying for courage and the spot where you land every night just before bed to say thanks for a good day!
Views out to the city below!
And with this last peak into the office and out to the city below, it's time to leave the building! I hope you enjoyed this T-room and that it inspired you to channel the tiger from within so that you can be brave and courageous, but also kind and open to be the best you can be!
