Cantsbee is the offspring of Puck, a gorilla researched by Dian Fossey. Fossey mistakenly thought Puck to be a male. Upon Puck giving birth, Dian exclaimed, It can’t be, hence the name. Cantsbee was known for being the alpha male of his troop for the longest of any gorilla until his disappearance in 2016.
