Rustic Cabin: natural wood
In this project a rustic cabin in the woods was given a new lease of life. They kept the original footprint of the cabin as far as possible, which included rustic brick walls and rustic natural wood on most of the interior and exterior walls as well as on the ceilings. The furniture and décor choices was kept as natural and uncomplicated as possible, with a ethnic flair.
The main bathroom where rustic wood and brick was used as the backdrop for a luxurious soaker tub. The dark mosaic tiles in the feature wall brings depth and extra atmosphere.
At the one end of the bathroom is a dressing room with enough storage space.
A big window looking out onto the terrace and into the fields, conveniently with shutters to ensure privacy.
A rustic stone basin on a rustic wood shelf.......
The fireplace in the bedroom is a big favorite in winter months when the family spend their holidays in the woods.
The main bedroom has direct access to the terrace....perfect for an early morning coffee outside.
The rustic wooden walls as was original in the cabin was kept and then paired with the luxury of leather and textiles. The colors were kept neutral with the accent of warm tones.
This is the view from the terrace.....where breakfast will be served on the rustic picnic table in the garden.....and who came to visit??
The terrace was was furnished with enough comfortable seating.....
Access to the terrace from both the main bedroom and living spaces.
And the perfect vehicle for a family break in the countryside where roads are not always as good as it can be...
Boris and Penelope....and the clash of the geese......who would be the victors??
The second bedroom, big and sunny and comfortable
Sunshine coming in from the big shuttered window.....rustic wood the soft beauty of textiles.
The open shelves for clothing storage created a lot of interest in the space, especially as it was paired with the more traditional bookcase.
Second bathroom.....spacious and sunny and so inviting!
This is the front entrance of the cabin.....and also serving as a mudroom collecting all the boots and jackets! Hang up your bag and leave your sorrows behind!
Leading into the big open plan living space with dining room and kitchen.....
This credenza is such a good example of the style of this space....with rustic wood and ethnic touches.
They kept the rustic beams in the big living area and loves everything about it. It creates so much atmosphere and rustic charm.
The fireplace at one end of the room was stocked with enough firewood to last them through the winter....or so they hope!Ti

words however many i wrote about this interior would not manage to covey how SENSATIONAL the property looks throughout. A design of stunning proportions and unfathomable technique. Hester I echo Winnies words by saying I am flabbergasted after seeing the work and skills that are demonstrated here. The MOST gorgeous mellow rustic creation i could imagine possible.!!!

I am flabbergasted!! Every design you post, I think, oh this is my favorite ever! I love every finish, every piece, every inch of this gorgeous home! The bedrooms are especially stunning, and the beam structure looks amazing. The outdoor area, as always, is a place I would be spending a lot of time! Always a highlight of your designs!
