This apartment was constructed to practice skills in constructing a double story space.....and practice a few more of the new version's features. I decided to put my focus less on a particular style, more on mastering skills. But in the end a lot of 'breaking the rules' made it's way into the design. Making for a funky and eclectic space.
Cover & Introduction
The downstairs patio.....partly under roof. With an uninterrupted view over the city.
This is the view from the balcony off the bedroom on the top floor.
The colors mostly neutrals.....and then added a lot of patterns and a few accents.....
The bedroom and kitchen share the same area....bedroom on the top floor. The style is feminine with a touch of everything.
The kitchen in the space below the bedroom. The use of wood veneer was carried through the whole apartment, creating a cohesive feel. And it worked wonderfully with the rustic bricks and steel used in the construction. Oh and please take note that coffee is served!
The view from the kitchen.....designed to sit at the island and enjoy coffee and breakfast.
The bathroom in this apartment is not attached to the bedroom.....but completely convenient as it's right next to the bedroom and comes out on the private upstairs lounge.
The bathroom carries the feminine touches of the modern age, but also remembering the glamour of Audrey Hepburn. The glamour of mirrored walls and good bath products.
The bathroom upstairs shares the same space with a cozy den downstairs. It could also be used as an office space.
Adorable little den downstairs. Perfect for receiving guests or acquaintances at the front door....having a work meeting or just a private moment.
Living and Dining Room

The dining space in the middle of the space is the ideal entertaining space. Rich veneer and a color scheme that might lift the eyebrows....but it made her happy!

Organize the big living space in areas to understand the layout. This is a TV lounge on the landing space form the stairs. Very convenient for the a last minute movie at night. Create a private area for the bedroom and bathroom, but with open glass screens to the downstairs areas.
The open staircase creates the feel of open ness and space.
From every angle of this apartment you'll find something interesting to observe and enjoy.....

Who would ever thought of making one wall a mirror....and then see the art that was created with all the reflections found in the mirror.....The fireplace wall was a feature wall created from one of the new features.
