Why, my soul, are you so dejected? Why are you in such turmoil? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise him, my Savior and my God.

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God.
Hebrews 11:3
One day during the year 1892 an elderly gentleman was sitting in a compartment of a train reading the Bible on his journey. Next to him sat a young student who was engrossed in a scientific journal. After some time the young man asked his neighbour, “Do you really still believe in that ancient book full of fables and fairy tales?” – “Indeed I do, and most certainly! You know, it isn’t a book of fables, but the Word of God.” That reply irritated the student, who retorted: “You ought to learn something about our history. At the time of the French Revolution about one hundred years ago religion was unmasked as a pure illusion. It was only people without any education or culture who believed that God created the world in six days. You should hear what science has to say about this fantastic story of creation.” – “Well, what do today’s scientists say about it?” inquired the elderly gentleman. – “Oh, I haven’t time to explain that in detail now,” replied the student. “You see, I have to get out at the next stop. But please give me your address; I’ll send you some scientific literature on the subject.” The elderly man took out his wallet and handed the student his visiting-card. When he read it, the student felt reduced to the size of an ant. He left the train with his head bowed low.
On the card stood:
Professor Dr. Louis PasteurGeneral DirectorInstitute of Scientific ResearchNational University of France
Dr. Louis Pasteur. Today’s reading: Leviticus 14:33-57 · Psalm 62:1-13
